The Malé Karpaty Mts. in western Slovakia near the Castle Smolenický zámok contain a forested hill called Molpír. On top of the hill is the historic fortified place. Instructive path leads to this archaeological site.

In the cadastre of Dechtice, in the forests of Malé Karpaty, there are ruins of the Church and Monastery of St. Catherine. The monastery founded by count Cristopher Erdödy in 1618 at the place where St. Catherine allegedly revealed herself to the young count and hermit - Ján Appony - belonged to the Franciscan order.

The most beautiful castle in the Malé Karpaty mountains, situated just several tens of kilometres from the Capital Bratislava is one of the best preserved Slovak Castles - Červený Kameň.
