The exhibition presents the tradition of headgear of married women in Spiš through caps from the villages of the former Spiš County. In addition to traditional hats from Spiš, the exhibition also includes burgher types of hats, scarves and girls' parties. The exhibition "Traditional caps of Spiš" is a combination of a sample of the collection items of the Podtatranské Museum in Poprad, the Museum in Kežmarok and objects from private collections.
The opening of the exhibition will take place as part of the Night of Museums and Galleries on May 14, 2022 on Saturday at 4 pm with a rich cultural program and a performance by the folklore ensemble Zespół Folklorystyczny "Hajduki" from Łapsz Wyżnych.
The exhibition "Začepčený Spiš" was supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council.
The exhibition is open in the Podtatranské Museum in Poprad on Vajanského 72/4 in Poprad, on the second floor.
Admission is included in the price of the museum ticket: € 4.00 / adult; € 2.00 children, pupils, students, disabled; children under six free.
