ŽDIAR is a typical Goral community situated between the mountains of the Belianske Tatry and Spišská Magura. It is a tourist centre and the starting point for trips to the mountains Belianske Tatry.

The 10th year of the SMOKOVEC ART AND ENTERTAINMENT MARKETS will take place on August 5-11, 2024, on the square in front of U Vlka Cafe and Tea House in Stary Smokovec. We invite you to the presentation and sale of original products by artists and craft producers working or living in the Tatras. The offer includes forged ornaments and horseshoes for luck, Tatra jewelry, ceramic and porcelain mugs, teapots and bowls, cut stones, leather products, painted pictures, textile and crocheted toys, brooches and ornaments, carved wood products, books, boiled corn , popcorn, fresh vegetables and fruits, herbs and herbal mixtures, teas and tea accessories. The markets are open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Entry to the markets is free. During the markets, performances and interviews from the cycle MORNING ROB, EVENING HOP! You have the opportunity to meet Tatra huts and porters, as well as folk music ensembles from the Tatra villages. One of the best preserved Slovak wooden sacral buildings is the articled Evangelical Church of the Holy Trinity (Kostol sv. Tojice) in Kežmarok. In 2008, along with seven wooden churches of the Slovak part of Carpathian Mountain Area, it was included on the UNESCO Word Heritage List.

OSTURŇA is a typical Goral village in a wide valley of the Osturniansky potok brook. It is probably the longest village extending over the banks of a brook in Slovakia. There are many original Goral buildings preserved in the commune.
