The complex of rock dwellings squeezed in tuff rocks situated several kilometres east of Levice, in the village BRHLOVCE, is unique in the territory of Slovakia.
The origin of rare rock dwellings in Slovakia is not altogether clear. Some authors associate it with possible hiding places in time of Turkish raids in the 16th century, others link it to the economic activities, particularly wine growing.
Rock dwellings situated in the village part Šurdaare from the 18th and 20th centuries. Some of them are still used for dwelling, others serve aswine cellars.
The exhibition of popular dwelling is situated in a house with its backyard cut into the tuff rocks. It demonstrates the original way of housing in this region. The yard No. 142 was awarded the international recognition Europa Nostra 1993 for conservation and restoring of the architectural monument. The exhibition of popular dwelling is an external exhibition of the Levice-based Tekov Museum.

The Castle is the most important dominant of the town Levice. It is from the end of the 13th century. It stands on top of volcanic rock protuberance above the swamps of the Hron river. It was the sentry fort guarding the road leading to central Slovakian mining towns.
If you wish to immerse in the star mysteries for a while, do not hesitate to visit the Tekovská hvezdáreň Observatory in Levice. You might be lucky to see trough the telescope a friendly extra-Terrestrial being waving at you.
The detached exposition of Tekovské museum in Levice – a mill settlement of former miller Pavol Turčan – lies at the Sikenica stream, appoximately 1 km from the upper (north) end of the Bohunice village.
Inštitúcia bola založená v Šahách v roku 1902 ako župné múzeum. Jej vznik iniciovala Hontiansko-župná múzejná spoločnosť na čele s Elemérom Pongráczom. Múzeum zaniklo v dôsledku zmien administratívneho členenia krajiny v roku 1924. Posledným kurátorom bol prvý uhorský olympionik Alajos Szokolyi. Znovuzaloženie inštitúcie ako mestského múzea sa udialo v roku 1992. Od roku 1995 funguje v dvoch budovách- na adrese J. Rotaridesa 13 (Hontianske múzeum) a na adrese Pivničná 1 ( Galéria Ľudovíta Simonyiho, predtým Hontianska galéria).

Sitno, the tallest mountain of the Štiavnické vrchy Mts., (1,009 m), dominates the south-western horizon of Banská Štiavnica and offers a fabulous view. Three faces of the mountain are steep, almost inaccessible, and on the fourth side the Castle of Sitno, or better said its ruins, stand. It was built in the 13th century on the site of a primeval fortified castle. It is in ruins since the 18th century.
Ruins of the Čabraď Castle are in the Krupinská planina plain in south of Slovakia.
In the heart of the mountains Štiavnicke vrchy in central Slovakian village Svätý Anton (known as Antol before 1996) stands a monumental Baroque-Classicist manor house with a wonderful English park.
In the middle of the fields near Veľké Vozokany, not far from Zlaté Moravce in the sout-west of Slovakia, a bronze lion erects from a stone pedestal. It commemorates the battle between the Turkish and the Hungarian armies in 1652.
