Chateau of Vígľaš
Východne od Zvolena na strednom Slovensku nad obcou Vígľaš stojí rovnomenný zámok. Počiatky slovanského hradiska siahajú do stredoveku, kde vznikol kláštorný objekt spravovaný templárskym rádom.
The main purpose of the museum is collection, documentation, professional processing, protection, and exhibition of material and immaterial artifacts of Podpoľanie.
The essence of the collection fund was created by an ethnographic collection prepared by several employees that were authorized by the town to collect and buy folk cultural objects from the whole area of Podpoľanie. Even today, ethnographic material from this region forms the predominant part of the collection.
Two permanent exhibitions are open to visitors:
1. Detva in historical sources
2. Photographs by Ján Lassovszky (pictures of Detva from the first half of the 20thcentury).
On July 9, 2009, a permanent exposition "Ovce moje, ovce..." (Walachian culture in Podpoľanie) was opened in the museum. It closed the series of expositions about sheep farming, sheep cheese production, bucolic folk culture in Podpoľanie (2006-2009). The exposition has been prepared with the financial help of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and with a financial contribution of the town of Detva.

he village Divín is situated next to the water reservoir Ružiná in south of central Slovakia. Ruins of the medieval Divín Castle can be seen above the village.
The Zvolen Castle, which is located on the bank of the Slatina River, is the most distinctive feature and symbol of the Central Slovakian town of Zvolen. An armoured train that reminds the Slovak National Uprising is placed nearby the castle.
The Pustý hrad Castle (also known as the Old Castle of Zvolen) is situated near Zvolen on the slope of a forested mountain in the Javorie mountain range, above the confluence of the Hron and Slatina rivers, in central Slovakia. It is surprisingly large, comparable with the more famous Spiš Castle.
One of the best preserved castles in Slovakia stands above the village Slovenská Ľupča at the foothills of the mountains Nízke Tatry.
The town castle was once formed by several ancient buildings in the central Slovakian metropolis Banská Bystrica. Its task was to protect the income proceedings of copper and silver mining for the royal treasury.
