Smolenický zámok Chateau

The Malé Karpaty Mts. offer several landmarks. The one of them is the Smolenický zámok Chateau, one of the Romantic buildings in Slovakia built to the design imitating central France chateaus.
Kto navštívi Smolenice a má rád prírodu a históriu, určite by mal navštíviť aj múzeum Molpír. To v sebe odhaľuje časť histórie z rôznych oblastí.
Múzeum je umiestnené v budove starej fary. Časť expozície tvoria exponáty z halštattského hradiska Molpír. V múzeu má svoj kútik regionálny historik a učiteľ Štefan Jastrabík. Jedna miestnosť patrí vynálezcovi padáka Štefanovi Baničovi. Zaujímavá jeexpozícia starých kníh zo 17.-19. storočia z farskej knižnice. Na chodbách je zdokumentovaná história obce v obrázkoch. Flóra a fauna Smoleníc a okolia spolu s minerálmi sú v ďalšej miestnosti. V poslednej miestnosti je etnografia Smoleníc a okolia.

The Driny cave is the only cave open to public in the south-west of Slovakia. It is situated in the Malé Karpaty Mts. near the Smolenický zámok Castle.

The Malé Karpaty Mts. in western Slovakia near the Castle Smolenický zámok contain a forested hill called Molpír. On top of the hill is the historic fortified place. Instructive path leads to this archaeological site.
North of Smolenice is the village Buková with water reservoir and a marked route, which leads southward to the romantic ruins of the Castle Ostrý Kameň from the 13th century. The Castle was a royal border fort guarding the Czech road in the past.
The village Cerová lies below the Malé Karpaty Mts. in the south-west of Slovakia. It is one of the starting points for the trip to the ruins of the Korlátka Castle built in the mid-13th century. As a Royal Castle, it protected the western frontier of the Kingdom of Hungary.
In the cadastre of Dechtice, in the forests of Malé Karpaty, there are ruins of the Church and Monastery of St. Catherine. The monastery founded by count Cristopher Erdödy in 1618 at the place where St. Catherine allegedly revealed herself to the young count and hermit - Ján Appony - belonged to the Franciscan order.
The Plavecký hrad Castle, subject of many legends, is the most important attraction of the western slopes of the Malé Karpaty Mts.
Situation of the village Dobrá Voda in the inner-mountain basin is also picturesque. Ruins of the Castle Dobrá Voda Castle tower above the area of the Dobrovodský karst.
The most beautiful castle in the Malé Karpaty mountains, situated just several tens of kilometres from the Capital Bratislava is one of the best preserved Slovak Castles - Červený Kameň. In the 16th century, it was rebuilt into a bulky fortress with a fortification system that was then one of the top military-defensive systems.
The village Budmerice situated below the mountains Malé Karpaty in western Slovakia has a long history. There is a wonderful manor house built by the Pálffy family.
