Kysuce Regional Gallery

The Kysuce Regional Gallery was founded in 1981, with its seat being located in the Town House on Hlinkova Street in the town of Čadca. It has a branch in the manor house in Oščadnica.
Chata Barbara sa nachádza v srdci lyžiarskeho strediska Veľká Rača – Oščadnica, v časti Dedovka, priamo na svahu, medzi dvomi zjazdovkami.
Chata ponúka ubytovanie v siedmich apartmánoch o celkovej kapacite 34 lôžok. Priamo pred chatou sa nachádza parkovisko pre ubytovaných hostí, ktoré je však prístupné len mimo lyžiarskej sezóny. Počas lyžiarskej sezóny je parkovisko umiestnené cca 100m od chaty, na požiadanie Vám však zabezpečíme prepravu batožiny snežným skútrom.
V areáli chaty je k dispozícii holandský kúpací sud, výborný na relax po lyžovačke. Sud má kapacitu 6 osôb a vodu v ňom ohrievame na 40°C. V blízkosti chaty sa nachádza aj lyžiarska škôlka a lyžiarsky park pre deti.
V celom objekte chaty je zakázané fajčiť.

However, you can find there the unique oil spring, which is the only preserved spring among similar smaller oil surface outflows in the central Europe. The picturesque village of Korňa is situated in the Čadca district, near the town of Turzovka, in Beskydy Mountains.

The Kysuce Museum in Čadca is a regional museum focused on national history and geography. At the same time, it is also a specialized museum with Slovakia-wide competence concerning the documentation of the development of forest railways in Slovakia for museum purposes.
The narrow gauge Historic Forest Railway in Vychylovka in the Kysuce region in northwestern Slovakia is a technological masterpiece of world prominence operating in the area that divides the Kysuce and Orava regions.
The outdoor ethnographic exposition presents the "kopanice" type of scattered settlements in hilly areas which was typical of the Kysuce region.
In practice, the logging railway in Oravská Lesná in Orava was not only cheaper with respect to the construction and operation, compared to the conventional railways, but it also could cope with a very rugged terrain. Nowadays, it is not used for the original purpose – the transport of timber, but it serves as an attraction of the Orava Museum.
The Orava Museum established the exposition of the Orava Logging Railway and the Orava Co-ownership Association in the reconstructed premises of the service building and it will be pleased to welcome anybody coming to this beautiful part of Slovakia to spend their time in a pleasant manner and to have some new experience.
The most famous highwayman, Juraj Jánošík, was born in the mountainous village of Terchová in the north-west of Slovakia. The inhabitants of Terchová had a statue of their native made to guard the entrance to the Vrátna valley.
Kysuce used to be a region whose tinkers travelled all over the world with their panniers on their backs. It is not surprising that a beautiful monument to commemorate them was built in Turzovka. The tinker´s craft has a more than 400 year-old tradition in Kysuce. The famous Kysuce tinkers, when looking for work, sometimes got very far from their native country.
The Museum of Považie in Žilina is situated in the premises of the Budatín Castle on the northern outskirts of Žilina.
The Castle of Budatín with a strategic position at the confluence of the Váh and the Kysuca rivers is a dominant of Žilina.
