Banská Bystrica Town Castle
The town castle was once formed by several ancient buildings in the central Slovakian metropolis Banská Bystrica. Its task was to protect the income proceedings of copper and silver mining for the royal treasury.

Len kúsok od cesty medzi obcami Dolná Mičiná a Čerín sa nachádza jedinečná prírodná pamiatka – tzv. Mičinské travertíny. Ide o údolnú travertínovú terasu posiatu malými travertínovými kôpkami – krátermi, z ktorých vyteká minerálna voda.
Kôpky majú rôzne tvary, možno tu nájsť bochníky, misky, nízke kužele či špecifickú formu – tzv. mičinské pramenitové kopy s previsnutým valom a žliabkovitým odtokom. Niektoré travertínové kôpky sú „živé“ – neustále rastúce – tvorba travertínu v nich stále ešte prebieha. Vďaka vode s vysokým obsahom minerálov majú často zvláštne červenkasté zafarbenie. V lokalite Mičinských travertínov je pre návštevníkov vybudovaný chodník. Na jeho začiatku sa nachádza informačná tabuľa, prístrešok s prameňom upraveným na naberanie minerálnej vody do fliaš, a tiež malé posedenie. Lokalita je významná i z botanického hľadiska – okrem travertínových útvarov tu možno nájsť i mnoho vzácnych druhov rastlín vrátane drobných orchideí.

Kremnica Town Castle
he Town Castle in Kremnica is part of the NBS - Museum of Coins and Medals. The castle hill is one of the locations with the earliest settlement within the town. The town castle comprises a compound of medieval buildings from the 14th through 15th centuries, protected with double fortifications to which town walls are connected. The town walls rank among the best-preserved town fortifications in Slovakia.
The Šášov Castle
The ruins of the medieval Šášov Castle stand above the river Hron not far away from Žiar nad Hronom in central Slovakia. According to a legend, the lord of the Zvolen Castle had it built for his court joker who saved his life while hunting.
