The baths in Sklené Teplice, one of Slovakia’s oldest baths, will let you warm your bones, relax your body and mind, and find a gorgeous landscape.
The Spa Sklené Teplice is situated in the marvellous valley of Central Slovakia, at the foot ofthe Štiavnické vrchy Mts., linking Hliník nad Hronom and Podhorie, 12 km away from Banská Štiavnica, a unique gem of the world’s cultural heritage.
A rarity in Sklené Teplice, its thermal springs of mineral waters, with temperatures of 38-52.3°C, not only have significant healing effects, they also emanate the spirit of the old famous history of the baths, which have been used since as long ago as the 16th century.
As thermal water contains a large amount of magnesium and calcium, the baths are predestined for the treatment of locomotive organs, nervous disorders, and conditions after injury and operation. However, given their nature, the baths can also be used by the general public, as the oasis of recreation and active relaxation.
A unique product of nature is so-called Parenica – a thermal bath that enables visitors to bath in a cave where 42°C hot healing water springs. This Central European unique is appreciated by notable scientific figures as well as numerous interested people from both Slovakia and abroad.
Water in Sklené Teplice is hypotonic, with hydrating effects on the skin. In addition to numerous procedures that the baths offer, visitors can also enjoy the cultural delights in the premises as well as nearby surroundings of the baths. The ruins of the medieval Šášov Castle stand above the river Hron not far away from Žiar nad Hronom in central Slovakia. According to a legend, the lord of the Zvolen Castle had it built for his court joker who saved his life while hunting.

Sitno, the tallest mountain of the Štiavnické vrchy Mts., (1,009 m), dominates the south-western horizon of Banská Štiavnica and offers a fabulous view. Three faces of the mountain are steep, almost inaccessible, and on the fourth side the Castle of Sitno, or better said its ruins, stand. It was built in the 13th century on the site of a primeval fortified castle. It is in ruins since the 18th century.
The Pustý hrad Castle (also known as the Old Castle of Zvolen) is situated near Zvolen on the slope of a forested mountain in the Javorie mountain range, above the confluence of the Hron and Slatina rivers, in central Slovakia. It is surprisingly large, comparable with the more famous Spiš Castle.
The Zvolen Castle, which is located on the bank of the Slatina River, is the most distinctive feature and symbol of the Central Slovakian town of Zvolen. An armoured train that reminds the Slovak National Uprising is placed nearby the castle.
he Town Castle in Kremnica is part of the NBS - Museum of Coins and Medals. The castle hill is one of the locations with the earliest settlement within the town. The town castle comprises a compound of medieval buildings from the 14th through 15th centuries, protected with double fortifications to which town walls are connected. The town walls rank among the best-preserved town fortifications in Slovakia.
The detached exposition of Tekovské museum in Levice – a mill settlement of former miller Pavol Turčan – lies at the Sikenica stream, appoximately 1 km from the upper (north) end of the Bohunice village.
