The route in the heart of the Low Tatras starts at the Demänovská Cave of Liberty and leads mostly along the blue marked trail up the Mt Chopok (2,048m). This section can be shortened using the lifts, which can save about 4 hours of your time and 1.200 meters of superelevation. Just below the Mt Chopok there is a cottage Kamenná chata, where you can have some snack (2.000m). Continue along the red trail through the saddle Krúpovo to Mt Ďumbier (2.043m), the highest peak of the Low Tatras. This section provides some of the most amazing views in all directions; regions Liptov, Spiš, Horehronie, the West and High Tatras and Slovenské Rudohorie (Slovak Ore Mountains) are at your fingertips. The route continues back to the saddle Krúpovo, from where you´ll continue along the red trail to the Široká valley and then through Lúčky back to the Demänovská Cave of Liberty (Source: Hiking.sk)
