Vyrovnať sa knižke – kultovému románu Bulgakova – bolo pre TeatroTatro veľkou výzvou a hľadaním odpovedí na otázky: Ako sa diabol, ktorý sa zjavil v tridsiatych rokoch minulého storočia v Moskve, zmenil a nakoľko ovplyvňuje svet súčasnosti? Nie je náhodou súčasný svet ešte o niečo diabolskejší ako svet porevolučnej Moskvy? A Ježiš Kristus má ešte nejaký vplyv alebo je to len idealistický prorok, ktorý, keby sa teraz zjavil, tak by okamžite skončil v blázinci, vo väzení alebo by umrel hladom? Bojíme sa posledného súdu? A existuje dnes ešte láska, ktorá je tak veľká, že sa pred ňou pokloní aj samotný diabol? Práve ľúbostná línia románu je pre „teatrácku“ dramatizáciu zásadnou. Ambíciou predstavenia je posunúť „obyčajné“ rozprávanie „prostého“ príbehu ešte hlbšie do metaforického sveta mágie a sna.
