Prírodná pamiatka Vyhniansky travertín je ojedinelým krasovým útvarom – živou, neustále rastúcou travertínovou kopou s viac ako 3 m vysokým vodopádom.

Vznikol usadzovaním sa minerálov z vápenatej vody, ktorá vyteká z niekdajšej banskej štôlne, takže by sa dalo povedať, že je vlastne spoločným výtvorom človeka a prírody. Vyhniansky travertín svojím tvarom pripomína hlavu mamuta s chobotom, vďaka čomu je niekedy označovaný i ako „Mamut“. Zaujímavosťou útvaru je, že na ňom boli po prvýkrát vedecky popísané železité baktérie rodu Gallionella. Prírodná pamiatka Vyhniansky travertín sa nachádza priamo v obci Vyhne – pri športových ihriskách neďaleko aquaparku – a predstavuje prvú zastávku Náučného chodníka Andreja Kmeťa vedúceho k ďalšej prírodnej zaujímavosti, Kamennému moru vo Vyhniach.

The Castle Revište

The ruins of the Castle Revište near Hliník nad Hronom in central Slovakia are set amidst a romantic environment. They stand on top of steep rock about 100 m above the floodplain of the river Hron. There is a wonderful meadow below the castle used by canoeist as a camping site.

Kremnica Town Castle

he Town Castle in Kremnica is part of the NBS - Museum of Coins and Medals. The castle hill is one of the locations with the earliest settlement within the town. The town castle comprises a compound of medieval buildings from the 14th through 15th centuries, protected with double fortifications to which town walls are connected. The town walls rank among the best-preserved town fortifications in Slovakia.
